Love pains….

“I think you still love me, but we can’t escape the fact that I’m not enough for you. I knew this was going to happen. So I’m not blaming you for falling in love with another woman. I’m not angry, either. I should be, but I’m not. I just feel pain. A lot of pain. I thought I could imagine how much this would hurt, but I was wrong.”
― Haruki Murakami

“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”

  1. Love is love, simple! Love cannot hurt, it’s the situation or the incidents that hurt. If that were not so, then, why does love not die? Love is beautiful, people change. Love is volatile, flying like a bird, sometimes unheard, at times, leaving you blurred. 🙂
    Lovely post, Nimmi.

  2. Pains can actually help you raise ur life to next level but only if you because it can open up the truth of life . only if you see that there is a possibility beyond this pain. but if you do not wish to see the possibility beyond pain and only dwell in the same feeling. pain is just disastrous .

    • You are so right, Sup… Pain is actually helping us to raise above in life. Just give some time to time and everything will heal slowly. I completely understand your feelings… Thank you, dear 🙂

  3. Hi Nimmi. Love causes pain at times cos’ you are most vulnerable to the one you love, but if you’re hurting all the time, then that’s not love. There should be equal, preferably more joy. Pain can make you wake up, I agree, but you don’t want it to be your constant companion either. Pain should be fleeting, what I’m saying, while love is eternal.

  4. Beautiful posts Nimmi. I have come to learn that shoving feelings away only makes them come back with more momentum, just like Jim stated. I guess the best thing is to feel them, deal with and then we’ll have tge strength to let them go. 🙂

  5. Nimmi, I am not a poet like you, where I can write stuff and share, but I am (reasonably) well read and so am sharing a few lines from my ‘Bible’ which is Khalil Gibrans ‘Prophet’

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

He threshes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

    He grinds you to whiteness.

    He kneads you until you are pliant;

And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life’s heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure,

Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing-floor,

Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.

    – good night sweet Nimmi
