Beauty can be ugly, Ugly can be beautiful…

What is beauty?
There are a thousand definitions of beauty. And there are many degrees of each. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is a beauty in sadness. Beauty can be ugly, Ugly can be beautiful.
Once a boy said to a girl, will you still continue this friendship of ours, if you find out that I’m UGLY.
For this, I have a story to share with you all which is very common and most of you have heard or read it somewhere or the other.

THE UGLY DUCKLING

A little duckling was very sad because he thought he was the ugliest amongst all his brothers and sisters. They would not play with him and teased the poor ugly duckling. One day, he saw his reflection in the water and cried, “Nobody likes me. I am so ugly.” He decided to leave home and went far away into the woods.
Deep in the forest, he saw a cottage in which there lived an old woman, her hen, and her cat. The duckling stayed with them for some time, but he was unhappy there and soon left.
When winter set in the poor duckling almost froze to death. A peasant took him home to his wife and children. The poor duckling was terrified of the children and escaped. The ugly duckling spent the winter in a marshy pond.

Finally, spring arrived. One day, the duckling saw a beautiful swan swimming in the pond and fell in love with her. But then he remembered how everyone made fun of him and he bent his head down in shame. When he saw his own reflection in the water, he was astonished. He was not an ugly duckling anymore, but a handsome young swan! Now, he knew why he had looked so different from his brothers and sisters. “They were ducklings, but I was a baby swan!” he said to himself.

Yes, that’s exactly right. Beauty is not hidden. So guys what are you all waiting for? Do what you feel like doing. Do something which makes you happy. Do something that is purposed for you. And when this happens, your beauty will begin to show. Others will recognize it and be drawn to it. You have allowed your beauty to flow.

YOU are Beautiful my dear friend.

  1. Aww that is a cute story 🙂 Yeah often people don’t understand that beauty has many forms and stereotype beauty to be fair complexion and perfect figure. And for some of them, this story is not going to help. They should understand the truth on their own.

  2. Lovely. I agree with Ranju, today people are only concerned with physical / superficial beauty. Our entire marketing is also geared towards this… There are probably more ads for fairness products than for anything else. But as anyone from the south will agree, it is dark and dusky that is more seductive and sensual 😊
Your post is great, one needs to accept and understand ones beauty and develop it… Lovely…

    • Indeed!! I really don’t know when people will understand the truth about the real beauty. Appreciate the inner beauty of a person.
True… I’m so glad that you liked it. Thank you so much, Santosh for you lovely point 🙂

  3. This question or statement, has plagued humanity since inception. Beautiful looking people can be horrible and vice-versa. The true test of any beauty is acceptance of all. No matter race, colour, or creed. Science gives us the nuts and bolts, of how but not why. Love is the driving force of the universe. Even if it’s difficult to see? Universal love may be found when one looks deep enough. Love is, burying the ego in favour of others. Meditation, a quieting of the mind is one way of discovering this truth.

    • Indeed! Your words are very true and wise. People have to seek the truth of their life. And yes, to open and purifying a mind, one must practice meditation or at lest some time with their own self in silence.
Thank you so much dear for your lovely point 🙂

  4. “Why thanking me so fast?
There is a lot of time which I can last!
Forget all the sorrows of your past!
Laugh Artyy, laugh out loud till your stomach blast!”

He, is this your magic that I too can write a four line poem? Haha. . .

Her heart, while sticking tongue out,
    leads a sheltered life,
    doesn’t drink, nor dance,
    Norfolk, it’s in her dreams.

    Shocked by lack of fidelity,
still pure, as she has never…
    though the thought comes:
    Now free, pretty and young.

    Brother nudges open eyes,
    Confucian box blown open.
    Evident culture gap,
    yet she jumps his way.

    Cosmic bonding creates a further
    life, tantric self-love springs to
relaxed life, freedom to be, to
    elongate burdensome boundaries.

Will she head back to marry,
    deny uncoiling life, to prove
    obedience? Dry flowers yield,
    break mid-air as she walks.
